Parental support obligation
PTLL serves about 200 children on numerous teams playing scores of games in a season that lasts throught the spring season. In order for the League to assure a season which provides the highest level of enjoyment for all players and their families the support of all parents of players is essential. To achieve the support of all parents, the League has instituted a policy regarding a parental support obligation of four hours of volunteer time per child each season. We hope every parent will participate, recognizing in some circumstances it may not be possible to do so.

The League will accept a $50 contribution per player in lieu of the participation obligation, but encourages your participation in this all-volunteer organization.

Your support is necessary!

Umpires
It's a valued role the umpire plays in Little League. Appreciating the significance of the umpire in both the proper conduct of the sport and the development of today’s youth, the need to provide competent, dedicated, volunteer umpires becomes increasingly evident. Those who take time to exhibit concern and interest are to be commended for their efforts.

But the position seeks a special kind of person. Not a demanding, overbearing personality, but rather one sensitive to the concerns of youth.

Email volunteer coordinators Niki and Dana for details on umpiring!

Team manager/coaches
This job is perfect for the person who loves the game of baseball and enjoys teaching the skills to play! It requires a commitment of time, energy, patience, and some basic knowledge of the game.

Team Managers serve as the main contact person for the team. Other responsibilities include organizing and managing practices (two or three during pre-season, and at least one per week once the games begin), games (one to three per week), and selecting two assistant coaches for your team.

Re-capture your youth and join our team! Contact Kirsten and Lisa, our coaching coordinators.

Assistant Coaches are selected by the Team Manager. It requires a commitment of time, energy, patience, and some basic knowledge of the game as they assist the Team Manager at practices and games. Assistant Coaches may be asked to work with small groups of players to develop specific baseball skills, work the baselines during the game, manage the players in the dugout, help with the scorebook/pitch counts, etc. It is a lot of fun!

Each Team Manager also needs a parent representative to help the coaches coordinate activities and communicate updates. The team representative coordinates uniform distribution, fundraiser communication, social activities (snack schedule and parties), pictures and helps foster communication between the team manager and parents.

Field maintenance
Assist with the care and maintenance of fields before and during the season to ensure safety and play-ability of fields.

Field maintenance days are each Sunday in February, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the PTLL Ball Fields at the Fairgrounds. Click here for a map to the fields!

Mowing, weeding, and other activities are necessary throughout the season. Contact Field Maintenance Manager Michael Rosser for more information on how you can help!

Concessions
Concessions is an important part of our games – not only for the benefit of fans and players, but because it is an important revenue source. Parents helping in this position assist the concession Manager as needed.

Email volunteer coordinators Niki and Dana for details on helping with concessions!
